Chapter 177
Only then did Patricia suddenly come to her senses. "Oh. Are you here to pick me up?"
Ryan nodded slightly. "Yeah. We agreed to go to the movies together today, remember?"
After hanging up the phone, Patricia patted her cheeks and mumbled to herself, "Patricia, don't you
want to try dating Ryan? Just forget about what happened this morning and what Isaac said. Keep your
distance from him." After the self-talk, she hurriedly gathered her stuff and left the president's office with
her handbag.
She entered the elevator along with the crowd who were getting off work. As there were a lot of people
in the elevator, she was pushed into a corner.
Some female colleagues were discussing Isaac's engagement. One of them asked, "Hey, has Miss
Aniston of the president's office been feeling blue lately?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAnother colleague replied, "That's for sure. Now that President Arnold is getting engaged, there's no
hope for her anymore."
"But President Arnold has her desk moved into his office. I wonder if his future wife will notice
something fishy."
"You guys know nothing. That's what rich men do nowadays: they fool around with women out there
while staying married. If it were me, I'd be willing to be the mistress of someone as handsome as
President Arnold."
"M-Me too."
Listening to these words, Patricia felt as if every word they said was a reminder to her. If she were to do
as Isaac had said, the situation would turn out just as they had described. She pursed her lips. She had
to find a way to free herself from him. No matter whether he wanted to fool around or tease her, she
had to distance herself from him as much as possible.
The elevator arrived on the ground floor, upon which the crowd poured out of the elevator. When the
ladies who had been gossiping just now saw Patricia, they all blanched in fright. Then, they greeted
her, saying, "You finished work quite early today, Miss Aniston."
Patricia nodded slightly in response. Indeed, today was the day she clocked out earliest. Usually, she
had to keep Isaac company, but he wasn't present today, nor had he asked her to go out with him. As a
result, she was able to leave early.
After walking out of the building, she saw a Maserati nearby. Ryan rolled down the car window and
called out to her, saying, "Over here, Tricia."
Some colleagues at the entrance heard him, so she slowly walked up to the car under the gaze of
everyone. After that, Ryan got out of the car and opened the car door for her, saying, "I'm so happy
today, Tricia!"
Patricia smiled at him before looking back. Noticing that those colleagues were still standing there and

Subsequently, Ryan got into the car before driving away.
Patricia let out a sigh of relief. As expected, women were born to have a thing for gossip, and she was
now the object of gossip in her company. Everyone thought that she had a special relationship with
Isaac. She didn't mind that in the past because there used to be nothing between her and him, but now,
she felt that her relationship with him wasn't so pure anymore. Therefore, those words sounded
increasingly unpleasant to her.
Ryan turned to glance at her. "Tricia, are you okay with horror movies?" His assistant had taught him
that it'd be best to choose horror movies when taking a lady to the movies. That way, she would throw
herself into his arms when she was afraid. Ryan really wanted Patricia to throw herself into his arms.
He hoped that they could become a couple as soon as possible. After all, he had been waiting for her
for six years, which was simply too long. So, he was bursting with impatience.
Patricia thought about it for a moment. "Yeah, I'm okay with that. I like horror movies, actually."
Ryan smiled. "Glad to hear that. I bought the tickets, so I was afraid that you'd be afraid to watch it."
Subsequently, Ryan got into the car before driving away.
