Chapter 458 I've Always Been A Total Loser
Without any hesitation, Alisha and Bennett said in unison, "Is there a need to ask us? Of course, we
choose to fight with Daddy!’
Bennett said loudly. He had a delicate face, and though he seemed adorable, he was mature and calm
beyond his years, wiser and more composed than many adults.
Bennett pinched his chin and began to make suggestions, "Mommy, why don't you and Ally stay here?
I'll go to Seatie City to see what's going on. If it's a trivial matter, I can fix it myself. Mommy, there's no
need to trouble you."
"Ben, you are awesome! Mommy, leave it to him. There's nothing Ben can't solve..."
Alisha looked at Bennett with admiration in her eyes and praised him. At the same time, she belittled
Braden and said, "I knew it. Daddy has nothing but a good-looking face. In fact, he is so incapable. He
gets trapped easily, and he needs Mommy to save him. Ben is the best!"
Bennett shook his head and sighed like an adult, "I told you already. Without me, our family will fall
apart.’
Shirley was speechless for a second.
She thought, I wonder sometimes. What kind of kids did I give birth to? They are capable of everything,
which makes the adults look redundant and stupid.
Tsk, tsk. I guess I really shouldn't have given birth at sea.
Of course, Shirley wouldn't let Bennett go to Seatie City for the sake of his safety. She instructed the
two kids seriously, “Alright then. You two, listen up. I agree with you on this matter. We can't just sit
back and do nothing. Instead, we should fight with your daddy. However, because the enemy is too
dangerous, this time it must be me who confronts them. The biggest help you can offer this time is to
stay on Sunflower Island, listen to Nancy and Keith, and wait for us to come back..."
"Mommy, believe me. I can do it!"
Bennett frowned and insisted.
He was worried that Shirley would be in danger. He didn't want her to confront the Gilmore family
alone.
"It's not negotiable. You are not allowed to leave Sunflower Island until we get back. Otherwise ... I'll
break your legs!"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShirley pointed at Bennett with a straight face and said, ’Did you hear me? Especially you. Don't act
recklessly!"
Then she stroked Alisha’s head and said gently, "Ally, your task is to keep an eye on Ben. OK?"
"Mommy, don't worry. I will keep an eye on Ben. I won't let him mess around."
Alisha nodded cutely. To her, Shirley's words were everything. No one could disobey Shirley.
At four o'clock in the morning, Shirley contacted the captain while everyone was asleep, left Sunflower
Island alone, and went back to Seatie City.
When the plane landed in Seatie City, it was daytime in Seatie City. The morning sun broke through the
clouds, and the sky was golden, full of life and hope.
The moment Shirley came out of the airport's VIP passage, she called Braden, but still, she couldn't
reach him.
"Damn it. Did the Gilmore family send someone to get him killed?"
All kinds of bloody scenes flashed through Shirley's mind, and she grew more and more uneasy.
Just as she was about to take a taxi, a silver Bugatti honked at her.
The car window rolled down slowly, and then she saw a face. It was handsome and looked very much
like Braden's. However, the man was more sinister and dangerous than Braden.
"Shirley, finally!"
The man leaned casually on the edge of the window, with a smile in his eyes. He looked kind of like a
handsome ruffian, and he attracted the attention of many passers-by.
"Antwan?"
Shirley instantly pulled a long face.
She thought, why is this lunatic here? Did he bump into me? Or was he waiting for me?
I don't care what the reason is. At this critical juncture, I should stay away from lunatics like him as
much as possible.
Therefore, Shirley pushed up her sunglasses, ignored Antwan as if he didn't exist, raised her chin like a
proud peacock, and walked past his car.
Antwan still had a smile on his lips. He raised his good-looking eyebrows and seemed even more
excited. He started the car and followed her at a minimum speed.
"Shirley, there's no taxi here. Where are you going? I'll give you a ride."
Antwan held the steering wheel with one hand and leaned out half of his body as he shouted at Shirley.
Such a slow speed was an insult for a sports car like Bugatti.
But in outsiders' eyes, it was like an idol show came true.
Some passers-by thought, tsk, tsk. A rich young man pisses off his sister-in- law, whom he's always
had a crush on, so he follows behind her in a limited edition sports car worth millions of dollars, acting
pitifully. How romantic!
Shirley wanted to ignore Antwan at first, yet he was so unscrupulous and had no regard for the
consequences at all. Not only did he bring traffic to a standstill, but he also shouted a lot of
inappropriate words recklessly.
She could only take a deep breath and clench her fists. Then she opened the door to the passenger
seat and reluctantly got into the car.
"Antwan, you lunatic! What do you want this time? I thought that you had already killed yourself out of
shame after being defeated by Braden last time. I didn't expect you to still be so cocky!"
Shirley's words were as sharp as blades. She said those harsh words deliberately so as to achieve her
goal in a comparatively violent way.
She had no choice. The only way to deal with a madman who had no boundaries was to be crazier and
more unscrupulous than him.
Antwan was not angry. He eased the car out of the congested area of the airport, and the smile on his
face grew bigger.
Apparently, he was enjoying himself. The more Shirley scolded him, the better he felt.
"Shirley, you surprise me. I find it hard to believe that you can still manage to take Braden back. Now
that you can endure this much, how can I stay vulnerable?’
He retorted calmly.
The car gradually drove onto the bridge around the sea. The sunlight streaming down the windshield
made him look handsome. His whole body seemed to be coated with a light, and his figure looked dim
and unrealistically dreamy.
Shirley crossed her arms and looked at the blue sea view outside the car window. She sneered, "Apart
from a silver tongue, what have you got to match Braden? If I were you, I’d settle for being the second
in command and wait to collect the dividends every day. You've been messing around, and now
everyone hates you. Is there anyone in the Stewart family who doesn't loathe you and your family, a
bunch of traitors?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe hit Antwan's sore spot. His eyes clearly became a bit fierce, and he sped up.
Shirley finally felt great, and she revealed a victorious smile.
She thought, humph! You are nothing!
She looked at the road sign ahead. Although she didn't know where Antwan was taking her, she
vaguely knew that it was most likely related to Braden.
"It seems that you know better about Braden's situation than I do. This is your chance to redeem
yourself. Why don't you take it?"
Shirley turned her head and looked at Antwan, deciding to make him one of them.
She thought, he may be a lunatic, yet after all, he is part of the Stewart family. Now that the Stewart
family is at the point of survival, I believe he knows that once his family is gone, he won't end up well.
It's time for him to be on the same page with his family now.
"What is Braden's situation right now? Why don't you walk me through?"
Antwan asked half-jokingly.
"Stop playing dumb. The Stewart family and the Gilmore family are having a fallout, and the Stewart
family is at risk. If you have any sense of the bigger picture, now is your best chance to make things
right..."
"Make things right?"
Antwan smiled, "I don't need to do anything to make anything right. You are right. I've thought it
through. What's wrong with enjoying my life and waiting to collect the dividends every day? I don't want
to go to the Stewart Group again, nor do I need my family's approval. Anyway, in their eyes, I've always
been a total loser."
Shirley was speechless.
For a moment, she didn't know what to say to refute him.
Yet she didn't believe that a person like Antwan would be willing to be the second in command forever.
She figured that he was lurking, waiting for an opportunity to launch a counterattack.
In fact, she didn't expect him to give a hand. She was glad enough that he didn't twist the knife.
"Also, Shirley, you are as naive as ever. You don't know me or Braden..."
Antwan said meaningfully, "First of all, what I want the most is never the Stewart Group. Secondly,
Braden isn't in any kind of danger at all. He ... has it all now."
"What do you mean?"
Shirley didn't follow, and her expression was solemn.
