Chapter 451 Be Careful When It Thunders
Shirley turned around and looked at Braden. His eyes went cold again.
The air seemed to condense right now. They were on a warm island, yet it was so bone-piercing
chilling.
Neither Shirley nor Braden spoke, however, the tension between them was so obvious.
''Damn!"
Nancy covered her face with her palms. She knew it! She was done for!
In her mind, the strange atmosphere was no different from that of a horror movie. Between the two, she
was at a loss. She wished she could just jump into the sea.
"Well, Mr. Stewart, don't get us wrong. Shirley and I talk without boundaries. Sometimes we say things
we don't mean it. We joke a lot. And... And..."
Under his strong pressure, Nancy gave in and tried her best to find excuses for Shirley.
Although Nancy didn't approve of Shirley and Braden getting back together, she didn't want things
between Shirley and Braden to go south because of her meaningless conversation with Shirley.
"Who says we don't mean it? When I say something, I mean it."
Shirley looked at Braden expressionlessly. She wasn't nervous at all because of his coldness. She said
calmly, "Everyone wants love to last forever, but love is nothing but the result of surging hormones. In
the end, only dullness remains. Everyone will get tired and bored. It is better to accept the law of
human nature honestly than to make false promises...’
"You're so rational. People who don't know might think I'm dating a robot." Braden smiled coldly. His
smile was like a knife, terrifying others.
He used to be a calm, rational, and emotionally stable man, who was known for never showing his
emotions.

And Shirley was the reason. In fact, she didn't even need to do anything. The appearance of her sanity
alone was enough to make him lose it!
Shirley continued to say expressionlessly, "Don't flatter me. I can never be compared to a robot. A
robot can stay sincere, but I can't promise that."
"So, you were ready to leave me long ago?"
Braden clenched his fists and asked, almost gritting his teeth.
"I won't go that far. Maybe I should put it this way... Let nature take its course. If we can get along, then
we'll stay together. Otherwise, we should go on our separate roads. Aren’t you the same?"
"No."
Braden's eyes were as deep as a black hole that could suck anything in. He stared at her without
blinking. "From the moment I chose to start over with you, I never wanted to be apart from you.’
Let alone Shirley, even Nancy, who was an onlooker, was a bit touched by his confession.
As the former biggest fan of "Summery Memories', Nancy felt the strong urge to want the two to get
together. However, she still tried to suppress her impulse with reason.
Nancy thought, wake up, Nancy! Things between them are way too complicated now. You can't be
obsessed with letting them stay together!
Nancy looked at Shirley and thought that the latter would be as moved as her.
After all, no woman in this world could resist the sweet nothings said by the man she loved.
Unexpectedly, Shirley looked puzzled, and she reminded Braden kindly, "Be careful when it thunders."
Braden was speechless.
And so was Nancy. Both of them knew the saying, "A liar is easily struck by lightning."
Shirley didn't want to embarrass Braden after all, so she softened up and coaxed him as if he were her
rebellious son, 'Sometimes being too confident might lead to bad results. I just don't want us to regret
what we said, and I'm looking out for the long haul."
"Are you suggesting that there is a long haul between us?"
"Of course!"
Shirley held his handsome and cold face and teased, "Otherwise, why would I waste my time with you
now? Look at you. You are so stingy, and your face is so tight that you are no longer handsome. Come
on. Smile for me. I love your smile the most. I will always be swept off my feet every time you smile..."
"Stop being so glib. I'm warning you, if you dare to leave me, I will break your legs!"
Braden's tone was still cool and arrogant. However, he was in a much better mood now and couldn't
help but smile.
"Alright, alright. Go and prepare dinner. Nancy is starving!"
"OK. Keith is roasting the lamb. It should be ready by now. Let's go over there."
After Braden finished speaking, he kissed Shirley possessively and went to prepare dinner for them
happily.
Nancy watched the whole thing, and her eyes were wide open. After a long time, she still failed to come
back to her senses.
"This... Is that it?"
She swallowed and asked Shirley sincerely, "Shirley, what exactly did you do? How did you manage to
make him so obedient? He is Mr. Stewart! The legendary domineering iceberg! I was ready to face his
terrifying anger, and he calmed down just like that? And he went to prepare us dinner? Isn't he a great
husband or what?"
"I don't know, actually..."
Shirley shrugged and let out a long sigh, saying, "Fate takes turns. He becomes the old me."
The location of the banquet was on the beach on the west side of Sunflower Island. The beach was flat
and open, and the sand was fine and soft. Also, because it was in an elevated position, it was almost
immune to high tide. All things considered, it had always been the best party spot on the island.
There was a bonfire and a barbecue on the beach. The great ram leg was cooked, and it was sizzling

"Sunflower Island is as relaxed as always. It is completely my dream island!"
Nancy faced the sea, opened her arms, and hugged the wind and waves, her body and mind
completely relaxed.
Bennett and Alisha were having fun with Keith. When they saw Nancy, they immediately abandoned
Keith and ran toward her.
"Auntie Nancy, you're here too. Great! Ben and I miss you so much!"
Alisha smiled sweetly and threw herself into Nancy's arms. Then she enthusiastically gave Nancy a big
kiss.
"Long time no see, Ally. How come you have become much cuter? Let me kiss you!"
Nancy held Alisha's face and kissed Alisha ceaselessly as if Alisha's face were jelly.
When Nancy wanted to kiss Bennett, he crossed his arms like an adult. He turned his head far away
and said seriously, "I am a boy, and you are a woman. You can't kiss me just like that. If you kiss me,
we have to get married."
He came to such a conclusion after seeing Braden and Shirley kiss under numerous situations
countless times.
"Well..."
Nancy didn't know how to refute Bennett for a moment.
"Dinner is ready. Come here!"
Keith tapped his champagne glass and greeted the crowd as if he were the owner of the island. He
looked at ease.
People gather around the bonfire. The long table was set with all kinds of delicacies and desserts, as
well as flowers and ribbons, which was very romantic.
"Ally, Ben, Auntie Nancy has a show to perform. Shall we enjoy her show before we eat?"
Keith smiled. Through the swaying candlelight, he looked at Nancy, who was sitting opposite him.
