Luna’s mouth opened, but no words cout.

She nervously glanced at Allen and Alden, then explained in a panic, “Uncle Lucien, it’s not like that. You've got

the wrong idea.”

Lucien said, taking a step closer, “Yeah, right. Then tell me, how did I get it wrong?”

Luna bit her lip pitifully. She had no idea how Lucien found out about this, and even less why Lucy had betrayed

her!

In a fit of desperation, Luna blurted out, “Uncle Lucien, that day Kimberly heard from Lucy that Kaia works at

Vanguard Law Firm, and Lucy mentioned the firm is working with your

company.

“Kimberly was furious that Kaia was trying to kick her and her mom out of the villa. So, in a moment of anger,

she told Lucy to do it.”

Just like that-with a few carefully chosen words-Luna shifted the blsquarely onto two others.

Then she added, as if softening the blow, “Yes, they made a mistake. But Uncle Lucien, Kaia wasn’t right either.

She started it by kicking Kimberly and her mom out. So... isn’t it kind of

understandable that Kimberly fought back?”

Lucien’s expression turned glacial.

“I don’t care about the reasons,” he said coldly. “What | care about is that someone in my company pulled a

stunt like this. That's unacceptable.”

His voice dropped, like frost settling in the air.

“I'll have HR fire this Lucy immediately.”

He paused-then looked straight at Luna.

“But you knew. And you said nothing. That makes you just as guilty.”

His tone sharpened further.

“Spreading rumors that someone is a homewrecker? That takes a special kind of cruelty.”

Luna stiffened.

She understood what he truly meant-he was calling her heartless.

Her lips quivered. Tears welled up and spilled down her cheeks.

Alden’s expression twisted. Seeing Luna cry made his chest tighten with pain.

Once again-because of her-he turned against Lucien.

“Uncle Lucien, Kaia’s just an outsider. How can you not believe Luna because of her?”

Lucien raised an eyebrow. “Outsider?”

A cold silence fell.

Under Lucien’s piercing gaze, Alden faltered. “Well... isn’t she?”

Lucien didn’t answer. Instead, he slowly turned to Allen.

“Dad,” he said evenly, “what do you think?”

Allen let out a quiet sigh.

He still couldn’t understand how things had unraveled like this -how his own grandchildren and Kaia, the junior

he’d always valued most, had ended up in such a tangled mess.

He looked at Lucien and said calmly, “Fire her. It’s your call.”

Then his gaze shifted to Luna, cool but not unkind.

“And Luna, you'd best stay out of other people's family matters from now on. That Kimberly girl is completely

muddle-headed.”

Luna’s heart sank.

Even now, Allen was siding with Kaia.

She bit her lip, blinking fast as tears gathered in her eyes.

Kaia never expected that a single phone call from her would make Alex fly all the way back to the law firm.

“Ha, Kaia. You didn’t tell us you knew Mr. Rhodes so well,” Alex said with a half-smile.

“Mr. Miller, Mr. Rhodes and | are just colleagues at work. We don’t know each other privately,” Kaia explained.

Alex didn’t buy it.

If there was no special relationship, Julian, that shrewd guy, would never have called personally to plead her
