Lucien gave her a slow, amused smile. “In a rush for what? Were you waiting for me?”
“Yeah.”
Lucien walked to the couch and settled down. She ended up perched on his lap.
Kaia tried to squirm away, but he held her firmly, “Stay still.”
“What were you in a rush for?” Lucien asked again, unwilling to let it go.
Kaia turned her head away. “Nothing. | just heard you were in a fight or something.”

In the end, 911 was called. When the paramedics arrived and saw the blood dripping from Alden’s head, they
flinched.
“What happened here? Was he attacked?”
Allen cleared his throat. “No, no. He... accidentally hit his head
on a vase.”
The paramedics gave him a long look, like they were wondering if someone in this luxury estate had finally lost
their mind.
They quickly cleaned the wound, stopped the bleeding, and loaded him into the ambulance.
