Chapter 106 No Smoking Allowed
Jimmy's excitement surged.
The louder the plagiarism scandal grew, the better it was for
him.
Kaia nodded, her mind already organizing the next steps.
“Mr. Moore, | understand. I'll need to review the details you've shared. Please sendall the evidence you have
—chat logs, call recordings, the fifty-thousand-dollar payment receipt, and the refund confirmation. Once you're
ready, you can reach out directly to the lawyers at Catalyst Law Firm. These are strong pieces of evidence.”
Jimmy's face lit up with gratitude. “Ms. Domont, thank you so much. Really.”
Kaia offered a warm smile. “Don’t thank me. Thank yourself for having the guts to speak up. Without your
courage, none of this would've gained traction.”
Lucien’s assistant, Frank, hesitated before speaking. “Mr. Graves, Mr. Alden Graves is waiting outside. Should I let
him in?”
Lucien glanced at his phone, noting five missed calls, and shook
don’t know when I'll be free.”
Frank, who knew the situation well, sighed inwardly.
Lucien was playing hardball, not just with his nephew but with his niece too, cleaning house in one fell swoop.
He knew it all traced back to Kaia.
Once again, Frank realized just how much weight Kaia carried in his boss's heart.
Alden, unable to get through to Lucien, tried calling his father, Zane, but his phone was off, likely because he
was on a flight.
A message from Luna flashed on his screen.
[Alden, have you reached Uncle Lucien yet?]
His frustration boiled over.
Everything had been fine until that blasted plagiarism scandal exploded online.
If it weren't for Luna, he wouldn't be stuck dealing with sartist's mess.
However, even stepping in personally hadn't killed the trending topic.

X Media's higher-ups were on friendly terms with Lucien, which was why Alden had cto him for help in the
first place.
But when he came, he learned that Lucien was in a “meeting”.
The “plagiarism” label had been plastered across X for a full five hours now.
Every minute it lingered chipped away at Luna’s carefully crafted image.
Luna couldn’t wait any longer and called him.
“Alden, can’t you talk to Uncle Lucien’s assistant? Tell him it’s
urgent.”
Alden’s patience was fraying. “You think | haven't tried? You know how Uncle Lucien is. He hates being
interrupted during meetings.”
He wouldn't dare barge in.
And pulling strings to kill a trending topic wasn’t something he could escalate to Allen.
That would only make Luna look worse in Allen’s eyes—and make him look incompetent.
If word got out that he couldn’t handle something as simple as a

social media storm, the Graves family nwould take a hit.
Luna’s voice cracked, on the verge of tears. “What are we supposed to do?”
Alden’s temper snapped. “Luna, didn’t you swear that song was your original gift to me?”
He hadn't expected someone to call her out for plagiarism.
Luna froze, scrambling for words.
“Alden, please, | didn’t copy anything. | swear! | don’t know how this happened.” Her voice broke into sobs.
When love ran hot, a lover's tears tugged at the heart.
When it cooled, those stears felt like a suffocating poison.
“Luna, enough with the crying,” Alden said, his voice sharp. “I'm working on it. Givestime. Your tears
aren't fixing anything.”
He paused, exasperation spilling over. “If it’s too much, maybe after we're married, you should just be a full-time
wife. The entertainment world’s too messy for you.”
Luna went still.
Hadn't Alden promised to support her dreams, no matter what?

wing ner to quit?
No. She wouldn't give up that casily.
“Alden, I'm sorry. I'll stop crying and wait for your update, okay?” she said, forcing her voice to steady.
Alden rubbed his temples, exhausted. “Fine.”
He lit a cigarette in his office, the smoke curling around his frustration.
“Ugh, who's smoking in here? Didn't Mr. Graves set a rule about this?”
A young woman from Admin pushed the door open. When she saw who it was, she paused in surprise.
“Oh, Mr. Alden Graves. It’s you.”
“What do you want?” Alden snapped, his usual warmth replaced by a cold edge.
“Nothing, sir!” she stammered.
She hesitated, then added cautiously, “It’s just... Mr. Graves doesn’t like smoking in the office areas,”

The woman shrank back, unnerved by his icy glare.
