Kaia’s face turned ghostly pale. She desperately wanted to hear what Alden would say.

Alden, looking relaxed as ever, was slouched in his seat, arm resting possessively behind Luna’s chair.

A few people around the table cooed in mock sympathy.

Cheers. Laughter. Someone even clapped.
But for Kaia, it felt like a sharp dagger piercing through her heart, leaving her in deep pain.
