"Are you hiding something—or someone-upstairs?” The conflicting emotions inside him threatened to boil over. Did he want to find Hadley here, or not? He wanted her to be safe-but not if it meant she had run to Denver.
"What?" Denver frowned in utter confusion. "What are you even talking about?" "Mr. Flynn!" Eric spun toward the entrance, where Phillips was answering a call.
"There's news about Hadley." Eric's expression turned sharp. "Talk now!" Phillips shifted uneasily, finally speaking, "The taxi... They've located it." "What about Hadley?" Reluctantly, Phillips shook his head. "Still no sign of her." Rage erupted instantly within Eric. "Then why are you even bothering to tell me?" Embarrassed, Phillips stared silently at the floor, unable to defend himself.

"You!" Denver's patience snapped completely, and he hissed furiously, "Eric, you bastard!"
Denver grabbed Eric by the collar, his anger boiling over. "You're pathetic! How dare you raise your hand against Hadley?" Immediately, Denver's fist crashed toward Eric's face. "Mr. Flynn!"
