“It wasn’t me. The nurse said that | couldn’t donate my blood because | had taken sleeping pills just hours
before.”
Harry fell silent. He seemed to be thinking it over.
Just when | thought he might love Maddie enough to agree, he shattered my expectations. “I de money. Not

In that split second, | wanted to kill him and myself-right then and there.
