Chapter 2038 Bet
But for some reason, she just thought there could be something more. She couldn't put a finger on it, however. She
thought her life was perfect, but it wasn't quite what she was expecting. She didn't have high expectations, just a
different one. The job she got was way more than what she expected, but everything else wasn't yet. It was a
complex feeling—she was confused, but at the same time, she felt like a hypocrite. She didn't even want to tell Ian
about it because she was ashamed of feeling this way.
Naturally, Ian knew nothing about what she was thinking. He went to take a shower and took the dresses out.
Cindy looked at them. One looked really formal and complex. It looked like a wedding gown, but it didn't feel quite
like one. The other one was a normal gown for the banquet. Logan had a good eye for clothes, since Cindy liked

Cindy tried both of them on. Ian had told Logan her size, so they fitted her well. She turned around in front of the
mirror and stared at herself. This is probably the prettiest version of me I've ever seen. She wasn't really big on
dressing up. She did do it a few times, but they were no match for her current one. The dress alone made her look
gorgeous enough.
After Ian changed into his suit, he came to stand beside Cindy.
Cindy held his arm, and they looked at their reflections, then they smiled.
Ian suddenly said, "So, still want to look for another hunk?"
Cindy didn't expect him to still remember what she said. She stared at his reflection and told him, "Yes, if you don't
treat me well. But if you're nice, I'll keep you around."
Ian smiled. "Ambitious."
"Of course. I mean, you might fall for another girl, so I have to have a backup plan for myself." She looked at Ian in
the mirror.
Ian nodded. "True. I can understand that." A few moments of silence later, he said, "What will it take for you to
cancel that backup plan?"
Cindy answered, "If I can have all your possessions. If I can feel secure, I won't think about any backup plan."
Ian turned around to look at her, then he suddenly said, "Do you want to take a leap of faith then?"
Cindy paused for a moment, then she looked at him. "What are you talking about?"
Ian went to the luggage and rummaged through them, then he took two items out and tossed them onto the bed. "I
dare you to come with me tomorrow."

remember packing them."
Ian grunted. "I did. Just in case. So, wanna bet? We'll have to use them on this trip; for marriage."
Cindy looked at him seriously.
Ian snickered. "Why? Chickening out?"
Cindy answered, "I'm just worried you might regret it after we register our marriage. For all I know, you might have
said that on impulse."
Ian sighed. "I'll call Hannah and tell her we're getting married. Is that enough for you?"
Ian took his phone out, but Cindy wouldn't let him make that call. They didn't even tell Hannah about the
engagement banquet, let alone the possible marriage.
She quickly held his hand. "See? You're being impulsive right now."
Ian put his phone down and looked at her. "What will it take for you to believe that I really want to be with you?"
