Chapter 2037 Joke
John said, "I've reminded them about it. It should be done soon.".
Logan sat down and asked Ian about his job. He liked gossip, and all the previous questions he asked were just so he
could finally ask Ian about his matter with Yulia. He only cared about that matter in all of Ian's cases.
Ian smiled dryly and looked at Cindy, then he told Logan, "Can you not talk about that? My lady is right beside me.
Do you want me to sleep on the couch tonight?"
Logan looked at Cindy, feeling surprised. "Wait, does he really have an affair with that b*tch?"
Cindy pursed her lips and tried her best to stay tense. "No idea. Maybe he dropped hints behind my back. I mean,

Ian laughed. "See? She never trusts me. Hey, do you guys have any idea how to handle this?"
Sophia said, "Marriage. It's a good contract. If you cheat on her, you'll be left with nothing after the divorce."
Logan nodded. "Not bad. Why don't we just skip the engagement and make it a wedding banquet tomorrow?"
Cindy laughed. "Please, no. Give me some time to think about it. I might fall for another hunk after I get married. At
least give me some time."
Ian knew she was just kidding, but he turned around and pinched her cheek anyway. "Try it if you dare."
Aurora backed Cindy up. "Of course she dares. She can kick you out if you don't make the cut. Cindy can find
another guy easily if she wants to."
Lola laughed. "Even Aurora isn't taking your side."
Ian sighed. "See? I can't do anything. They keep a really close eye on me. I might die if I glance at another girl. You
know, like that meme."
Cindy snorted, but she said nothing.
For some reason, she thought about Valerie. Valerie and Ian never had any interactions before. They only started
talking because Ian was starring in the new drama with her. Cindy only met Valerie once and saw her interact with
Ian during the shooting. They never interacted otherwise. She might just be sensitive, but she felt that Ian and
Valerie were better friends than she thought. The thing with Yulia might have made her paranoid, but that was just
what she felt.

The waiter served the food a short while later. This time, there wasn't any alcohol. Sophia had brought her kids
along, and Lola was pregnant. Ian and Cindy would be attending the banquet the next day, so they agreed that the
dinner would be an alcohol-free one. They just wanted to chat.
Cindy wasn't extremely close with all of them, but she did know them, so she wasn't feeling reserved at all. She
could chat with them and even joke around.
The dinner didn't last long. Everyone put their cutlery down after they were done eating, and they chatted for a
while before they left.
John covered his kid with a blanket and pushed the stroller ahead with one hand. He held Sophia's hand with the
other and left the room, while Logan followed behind, holding Lola's hand.
Cindy felt melancholic seeing them. After she and Ian came back to their room, she said, "I envy them."
Ian hugged her. "We'll have a family soon too."
Cindy sighed. She knew she should feel content, since her life with Ian was already good enough now.
