Chapter 31 The Omega: Mated To The Four Chapter Thrity One The pack house was alive with activity as we prepared for the Lunar Redemption Day. Mariah hadhanging ribbons, arranging centerpieces, and stringing lights until my fingers were sore. It felt oddly normal, almost domestic, and I couldn't help but enjoy the distraction.
"I think we need more silver in that corner," Mariah called from the other side of the room, pointing to a bare section near the windows.
I sighed, wiping my hands on my jeans. "We're drowning in silver already. You're going to blind someone. And if this were the real silver we'd all be dead" Mariah laughed, brushing her hair out of her face. "What? I like it." The Lunar Redemption Day wasn't just a celebration; it was a deeply symbolic event. A way for the pack to reflect on their ancestors and reaffirm their bonds to the goddess even with her absence.

The book was old, its leather cover worn and soft under my fingers. The title was barely legible, but the pages inside were filled with stories about werewolf lore and history. I found myself flipping to the sections on bloodlines, my curiosity getting the better of 1. me.
I'd spent so much of my life not knowing where I cfrom. For all I knew my parents never wantedso they abandoned me. But now, with the whispers of my lineage being tied to something greater-something almost mythical-I couldn't stop wondering.
Were there others like me? Others who had survived? "Whatcha reading, Carrot Head?" I jumped, startled, as Alex and Austin appeared on either side of me, grinning like mischievous foxes.
"Would you stop sneaking up on me?" I snapped, slamming the book shut and glaring at them.
"We didn't sneak,” Austin said innocently, sitting on the porch railing. "You were just too absorbed in your book to notice." Alex plopped down besideon the bench, leaning over to peek at the cover. "What's so interesting, anyway?" I hesitated before answering. "I wanted to learn more about my lineage. My family." The playful smirks fell from their faces, replaced by something softer something almost reverent, "You've been thinking about them a lot lately," Austin said, his tone unusually serious.
"Can you blme?" I asked, looking down at the closed book in my lap. "Everyone thought my family was wiped out-extinct. But I'm still here. Doesn't that mean there's a chance others could be out there, too?" Alex reached out, his fingers brushing mine briefly before he pulled back. "It's possible," he said quietly. "But if there were others, don't you think they'd have clooking for you by now?" The words stung, but I knew he wasn't trying to hurt me. He was just being honest.
1/2 Chapter Thrity One "Maybe they couldn't," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "Or maybe they didn't know where to look." "You're not alone, Stormi," Alex said after a moment. "Even if your family isn't out there, you have us now." 1 let out a bitter laugh. "You're really going to play the 'we're your family now' card? After everything?" "We deserve that," Austin admitted, his voice steady. "But we're trying, Stormi. And we're not going anywhere." I wanted to argue, to tell them that they didn't get to rewrite history just because they felt guilty now. But the sincerity in their eyes made it hard to hold on to my anger.

Instead, I opened the book again, flipping to a random page. "I was m I reading about the Silver Wolves," I said, hoping to change the subject. "Apparently, they were known for being incredibly rare-almost sacred." "That checks out," Alex said with a grin. "You're definitely rare." "And sacred," Austin added, nudgingplayfully.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm serious. The book says their abilities were tied to something called the Lunar Veil, but it doesn't explain much beyond that. "The Lunar Veil?" Alex repeated, his brow furrowing. "I've heard that nbefore. Isn't it supposed to be skind of gateway?" "That's what I thought," I said, leaning back against the bench. "But if it's a gateway, what's it supposed to lead to?" "Nothing good, probably," Austin said with a shrug. "Most ancient werewolf stuff is either a blessing or a curse. No in-between." The conversation drifted after that, the twins asking more questions about the
book and my thoughts on my lineage.
For a while, it almost felt... normah Like we weren't tangled up in a complicated mess of guilt, forgiveness, and unresolved feelings.
