Chapter 164
Chapter 164
The meeting had ended, and Hailey, guided by her assistant, moved into her new office.
It wasn’t large, but it wasn’t small either. The office had been vacant for stime-previously Isaac's, but after
he was promoted to General Manager, no one had been assigned to take over.
Hailey stood by the window, gazing down at the city below, taking a slow, steady breath.

They were on the thirty-sixth floor, and from this height, she could look down on the world below as though she
were a god observing her domain.
After living two lifetimes, she had finally entered the Dalton Group.
But even now, her vengeance-her mother’s vengeance-had only been partially fulfilled.
She stood there, her gaze growing darker, lost in her thoughts.
Meanwhile, Aiden, seething with anger, returned to Mattie’s place.
He hardly ever went hanymore, often staying with her.
This was the villa he had bought for Mattie: three floors, extravagantly decorated.
Mattie, ever considerate, made him coffee and gently tried to soothe the fire of his rage.
With her warmth and soft affection, naturally, his anger began to subside.
But soon, Aiden’s phone rang. It was Rose.
The mere sight of her non the screen made Aiden want to hang up immediately.
Mattie stopped him. “You should answer. It might be urgent.”
Reluctantly, Aiden answered the call.
The moment the phone connected, Rose’s voice erupted, full of frantic curses.
Aiden, not wanting to argue in front of Mattie, looked visibly pained as he quickly hung up.
Mattie blinked, her expression innocent and confused. “What happened?”
Aiden stood, clutching his chest as though his anger was causing physical pain. “I need to go back for a while.”
Mattie nodded, her voice soft. “Okay, I'll see you out.”
Once Aiden returned to the villa, he slapped Rose across the face without hesitation.

Over the past two years, Aiden had grown increasingly reckless, no longer caring about the woman who had
once been his wife. Rose, on the other hand, couldn’t suppress her fury any longer, and their arguments had
beca daily occurrence.
At first, she feared that Aiden might divorce her, leaving her with nothing.
The Dalton family was vast, and if they wanted, they could easily leave her with nothing.
But Rose soon realized that Thomas had forbidden Aiden from divorcing her.
So, Rose had begun to make trouble.

For the past two days, she had received anonymous photos-pictures of Aiden with other women, kissing and
getting intimate. She was seething with rage.

“You still have the nerve to hit me?” Rose shrieked, wearing nothing but her nightgown, her hair wild and
unkempt, looking like a woman completely out of control. She pressed her hand to her face, eyes blazing with
fury, and lunged at Aiden.
Her long nails left a deep scratch across his face.
Aiden, shaking with anger, could barely contain his rage. This was the first ta woman had ever hit him, and
in a fit of pure fury, he slapped her again. Grabbing her hair, he slammed her into the sofa, his hand around her
neck, his face flushed with rage.
“You crazy bitch!” he spat through gritted teeth. “I warn you-if you keep this up, I'll kill you!”
Rose sneered, holding his wrist with a death grip. “All you care about is having a son, isn’t that right, Aiden? Well,
I'll tell you this: you'll never have a son.”
Aiden froze, confusion flashing across his face. “What the hell are you talking about?”
Rose forced a laugh from her throat, the sound raspy and hollow. “I know the address of the villa you bought for
that cheap woman. You think | haven't been watching? And she’s pregnant with your child, isn’t she? | bet by
now that child's probably gone.”
Aiden’s phone rang again.
It was Mattie.
Mattie’s voice cthrough weak and trembling. “Aiden... help... the baby...”
Before she could finish, the line went dead.
“Mattie! Mattie!” Aiden shouted in panic, his heart racing.
Rose, standing nearby, couldn’t help but burst into loud, mocking laughter.
Aiden, frantic, grabbed a bottle of wine from the table and hurled it at Rose's head.
For a moment, everything in the room fell into an eerie silence.
Before Rose passed out, she looked at him with an expression of disbelief.
Blood poured from the wound on her head.
Aiden suddenly snapped back into reality. He dropped the bottle, his body trembling with fear.
He had just killed her.
The realization hit him like a freight train, and his face drained of color, cold sweat dripping down his back.
His first instinct was to run.
But he had made such a scene coming back-people had seen him, and the house had security cameras.
If he ran now, he’d be on the run.
No, he couldn’t let anyone know.
Aiden forced himself to calm down. He bent over and dragged Rose’s body to the basement.

He had to hide the body first, then figure out what to do next.
Afterward, Aiden cleaned up the blood and shattered glass from the floor, his nerves settling just a little.
He made a call to the housekeeper.
By this time, the housekeeper and the servants had probably been sent away by Rose, a stroke of luck.
If they had still been there, he would have had to pay them to keep quiet.
Aiden dismantled the security cameras and deleted all footage, making sure there was no trace left. By the time
he was finished, the sky had darkened.
Aiden scanned the room before heading to the storage closet. He grabbed a bag, then went back to the
basement.
Rose lay there, pale and lifeless.

He stuffed her into the bag, grabbed the car keys, and left the house.
He drove straight to the cliffs near Houhai, parked the car, and pulled Rose’s body out of the trunk.

He looked down at the abyss below, then tossed her body off the edge without hesitation.
The darkness below was endless, and the night was so thick that nothing could be seen.

Aiden shined a flashlight down, making sure her body had disappeared into the darkness. Only when he was
certain did he get back in the car and leave.

Meanwhile, Hailey was on the edge of losing her mind.
“Ocean Lily” had taken a massive hit recently.
The designers and models they had signed for the next quarter suddenly breached their contracts, willing to pay
steep penalties just to avoid working with Ocean Lily.
Lily, furious, was on the verge of exploding. The next quarter's advertising campaign had already been planned,
and everyone knew the designs and concepts. Now, with the designers walking out, they had no idea where to
find replacements.
And it wasn't just Lily-River Studios had also fallen apart. Apart from Suzanne, the rest of the team had been
poached. Even the Dalton Group had been hit hard.
The source of all this chaos was none other than Owen.
Hailey was so angry she could scream.
Now she understood what Owen'’s cryptic words had meant.
This was his revenge, and he was forcing her hand.
The employees and clients who had left had all gone to Owen's side.
How much hatred did this man hold?
Hailey sat in her office, breathing deeply.
Isaac, standing before her, was speaking. “Losing the other clients is bad enough, but if Mr. Gardner leaves us,
we might as well shut down for the second half of the year. Mr. Gardner is our biggest partner for the next
quarter.”
