Mrs.
Evans had grown accustomed to starting her day by explaining her husband’s condition to him.
She would give him an update on the current time and recap recent events, including what had happened the day
before.
Samuel’s memory had deteriorated so severely that he couldn’t even recall events from the past ten years.
What had happened each day would be forgotten by the next morning.
But the Lady was taken aback by what she had just heard.
Her husband had remembered something from yesterday, the blurry scene he had glimpsed under the moonlight
when they arrived at Willow Estates.
Samuel seemed surprised by his own recollection and touched his forehead in confusion.
“Do you remember what happened yesterday?” he asked his wife.
The Lady’s face lit up with joy.
“It’s been a while since you woke up the next day and remembered anything from the day before!” she exclaimed.
She couldn’t wait to hear what else he could recall.
“What do you remember about yesterday? Tell me quickly!”
Samuel furrowed his brow, trying to remember.
“I remember that we flew here for a long time… Um… And after we got off the plane, we drove all the way to the
suburbs.
I was so tired that I went straight to bed.”
Hearing at this, the Lady’s excitement grew.
“Do you remember going to the suburbs again? What happened before that?” she asked eagerly.
“How early is it?” Samuel inquired, puzzled.
“Do you remember what happened before we left the United States?” the Lady asked eagerly.
“Do you recall meeting Desmond on the plane before we departed? What did Jack Lee talk about?”
Samuel’s expression became vacant, and he looked around in confusion before gazing down at his hands.

His face twisted in agony as he tried to recall his memories from before the plane took off, but it seemed as if he
was struggling to piece it all together.
“I don’t know what’s happening,” he said painfully.
“The furthest I can remember is getting off the plane and rushing all the way here.
I can’t remember anything else…”
The Lady quickly tried to reassure him.
“It’s okay, Samuel.
The fact that you can remember even that much is a great improvement.
Remember, you couldn’t even recall anything from the day before.”
The Lady’s excitement couldn’t be contained.
“Your condition has been deteriorating for so many years, and I’ve never seen any hope of reversal.
But now, this is a really good sign! Master Vail told me that this place has great geomantic energy, and it seems like
it’s true! This was definitely the right time for us to come to Aurous Hill!”
Little did the Lady know that the old man’s sudden improvement on his first night at Willow Estates was entirely due
to Charlie’s presence in the building, an inconspicuous little formation tucked away in one of the villas.
Despite its unassuming appearance, the value of this formation was more than a staggering 100 billion.
It relied on the use of a rejuvenation pill and some reiki to work its magic.
The old man’s memories were akin to articles written on a sandy beach, with the tide eroding away most of the
content until it was washed away entirely by the rising tide at night.
By the time the old man had arrived in Aurous Hill the previous night, most of his memories of the day had already
faded away.
But once he had been secretly nourished with Charlie’s rejuvenation pill within the formation of the villa, his
memory was immediately strengthened.
This explained why he was able to recall events that had occurred after getting off the plane, but nothing that had
happened before.
The Lady was overjoyed at this moment, and she hurriedly declared to the old man, “I have to tell Desmond the
good news right away!” She then took the old man by the arm and led him to the
elevator, eager to share the news.
Downstairs in the enormous restaurant, the servants had already prepared a sumptuous breakfast fit for royalty.
Desmond and Jack Lee were already seated at the dining table, energetically devouring all kinds of exquisite
breakfast dishes.
It wasn’t just the elderly couple who felt as if they had enjoyed a particularly solid and comfortable sleep the
previous night, Desmond and Jack felt the same way too.
They felt as if they had returned to the heartless and energetic age of seventeen or eighteen years old, able to fall
asleep immediately after exhausting all their energy during the day.
As soon as they saw the elderly couple, the two of them stood up and greeted them warmly.
Desmond, in particular, asked with concern, “Mom and Dad, did you sleep well last night?”
The Lady beamed with excitement.
“We slept wonderfully! I have some good news, the old man still remembers what happened yesterday!”
“Really?!” Desmond was so startled that he almost dropped his fritters.
He looked at his ruddy father and asked eagerly, “Dad, do you still remember everything from yesterday?!”
The old man thought for a moment before responding, “I remember a part of it… I recall everything from the
moment I got off the plane and arrived here very clearly.
But after that, my memory gets a little hazy.”
Desmond couldn’t contain his excitement.
“I was just telling Jack Lee that this place seems like a treasure trove of geomantic energy.
After sleeping here, your whole body feels incredibly relaxed.
I thought it might just be a hallucination or some kind of delusion, but I didn’t expect you two to feel the same way!
To top it all off, Dad, you can even remember what happened yesterday.
It’s amazing!”
He turned to Jack and asked, “What do you think, Jack? Do you think there’s something metaphysical going on
here?”
Jack smiled and nodded.
“This is definitely a magical experience.
More importantly, I can feel the beauty of it.
There might be something metaphysical at play.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmDespite what he said, Jack had already realized in his heart that this wonderful change was not metaphysical at all.
It had to be something to do with Charlie, but he didn’t want to reveal their relationship just yet.
Although he had been a skeptic when it came to metaphysics, since Charlie had saved his life, he had come to
believe in it and was even in awe of it.
As a detective, he was highly sensitive to all kinds of information.
Even though Charlie had not disclosed the mystery of the villa to him, in a phone call before he had arrived, Charlie
had specifically instructed him to ensure that the elderly couple lived in this particular villa and stayed there for as
long as possible.
At first, Jack had been puzzled by Charlie’s seemingly contradictory request, not wanting to acknowledge the elderly
couple as his grandparents, yet still insisting that they stay in the villa for an extended period of time.
But this morning, as he felt the wonderful effects on his body, he realized that this was Charlie’s true intention all
along.
Charlie had gone to great lengths to ensure that the people living in the villa experienced significant physical
improvements and enhancements.
Perhaps, if the old man stayed here for a few more days, the difficulties caused by Alzheimer’s disease could be
easily resolved.
Thinking of this, Jack couldn’t help but admire Charlie even more.
Despite his reluctance to acknowledge his grandparents, Charlie had still gone through great lengths to help them
settle in.
The Lady was thrilled.
“It’s only been a day since we arrived here, and already there’s been such a significant improvement.
If we stay here a little longer, his condition might even be cured!”
Suddenly, she remembered something and turned to the old man beside her.
“Samuel, from now on, try to remember everything that happens each day, every detail, every conversation,
everything.
We’ll review it all here tomorrow morning and see how much you can retain from today’s memory!”
