At that moment, Charlie instinctively reached for his trouser pocket.
There was a ring that Maria Clark had given him and he still hadn’t quite figured out its purpose.
Nonetheless, he always kept the ring close to his body, afraid that it might get lost or misplaced in some mishap.
Charlie treasured the ring not because of its value, but because he had invested an immense amount of reiki into it.
If that energy was converted into labor, it would be the equivalent of three years of grueling work.
Yet, the ring still demanded more, never paying a single penny in overdue wages.
Thus, Charlie couldn’t allow the ring to slip out of his grasp.
After feeling the ring in his pocket and confirming it was still there, Charlie breathed a sigh of relief.
However, his thoughts drifted towards Maria Clark.
He couldn’t understand why the ring and the girl had caught the attention of the Lord of the Warrior’s Den.
What made her so extraordinary?
Charlie couldn’t help but feel a twinge of regret for not questioning Maria Clark thoroughly when they were in
Northern Europe.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHe had already hinted at her with Reiki to take her to a safe location, but he should have asked her more questions.
Now, Maria Clark’s whereabouts were unknown and finding her seemed as impossible as climbing the sky.
Julian had no idea that the ring that the Warriors Den had gone to great lengths to obtain was now in Charlie’s jeans
pocket.
To Julian, Charlie was the son of an old friend and since both of his parents had passed away, he felt a greater
sense of responsibility towards him.
He said to Charlie, “I’ve received information that there will be a major upheaval in the Warriors Den soon.
You’ve had clashes with the Warriors Den and they will stop at nothing to find you.
You must stay low-key and be careful.”
Curiously, Charlie asked, “Uncle Davis, what plans does the Warriors Den have in store for the near future?”
Julian responded, “I’m not sure of the specifics, but my father told me that the four marshals of the Warriors Den
have emerged one after another.
Their strength surpasses that of regular warriors and they could easily take down an enemy general amidst a ten
thousand-man army.
If they target someone, it could be disastrous!”
“Taking down an enemy general amidst a ten thousand-man army?”
Charlie furrowed his brow and muttered to himself, “These four marshals must be as skilled in aura manipulation as
I am.
If they focus on me, I’m confident I can take them down.
However, if they target those around me, I’ll be at my wit’s end…”
Charlie then asked, “Uncle Davis, did the four marshals leave the Warriors Den to find that girl and the ring?”
Julian replied, “Most likely.
My father doesn’t know much and his level is far beneath theirs.”
Charlie nodded and requested, “Uncle Davis, please keep my affairs confidential and don’t mention them to your
father.”
Julian immediately agreed, saying, “Don’t worry, I’ll keep your secrets safe.
Just be extra cautious during this time.”
“Alright then!” Charlie clasped his hands together in gratitude and said, “Thank you, Uncle Davis.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJulian smiled warmly, “Your father is my Elder Brother.
There’s no need to be so formal with me.
If you ever need my help, just give me a call.”
With that, he pulled out a business card and handed it to Charlie.
Charlie accepted the card with both hands and replied, “Thank you, Uncle Davis.”
Julian smiled and waved, glancing at the time, “Charlie, it’s getting late.
I need to head back to Eastcliff.
Let’s wrap things up for today.
If there are any updates in the future, I’ll inform you as soon as possible.”
Charlie nodded, bowing slightly, “Thank you, Uncle Davis.
If anything comes up on my end, I’ll be sure to contact you right away.”
Julian nodded solemnly, “If you ever find yourself in Eastcliff, make sure to let me know.”
“Sounds good!”
