Chapter 4164

James' only hope of breaking the protective barrier was Leilani.

The protective barrier formed by the collective strength of 30,000 powerhouses was

simply too strong. Even when James and Wotan joined forces, they could not breach it. If

they continued to drain their energy fruitlessly, they would be exhausted before breaking

the barrier.

While attacking the protective barrier, James observed Leilani.

James and Wotan's onslaught was aggressive. The creatures within the protective barrier

did not dare to fight them rashly. The two had displayed Acmean-level strength. Being

struck by any of their attacks would result in severe injuries or even death.

One minute later, Leilani said telepathically, "Forty-nine, how confident are you in

breaking the formation around the planet and getting me out alive?"

At this point, Leilani had already given up contesting for the Primal Mantra. She just

wanted to leave the planet alive. Her main priority now was to survive.

This thought was shared by a number of the surviving creatures.

James replied, "I'm not sure if I can completely dissolve the formation, but I'll be able to

make an opening at least."

Hearing this, Leilani began to consider her options. After pondering briefly, she decided to

take a gamble.

James had indeed broken many formations within Planet Desolation. Perhaps, he really

could open a passage in the formation and help her leave the planet.

She asked, "What do I need to do?"

James replied, "It's very simple. Since you're inside the protective barrier, I need you to

attack from within while Wotan and I attack from the outside. If we attack simultaneously,

we'll be able to break the protective barrier instantly."

"Alright." Leilani agreed to cooperate with James.

After James got Leilani’s approval, he relayed the plan to Wotan. The two of them paid

close attention to the protective barrier. Inside the protective barrier, Leilani glanced

around her.

The surrounding creatures were doing their best to maintain the protective formation and

all of them were not wary of the other creatures in the barrier.

At that moment, Leilani suddenly made a move. She summoned all her strength and

released a damaging blast that spread out in every direction.

The creatures around her were unguarded, so many were injured when Leilani's power

struck them, and the protective barrier was immediately weakened.

After she succeeded in disrupting several of them, she quickly attacked the protective

barrier.

At that moment, James and Wotan quickly followed up and attacked the barrier with all

their might. The trio was perfectly coordinated both from outside and within, instantly

breaking the barrier set up by 30,000 powerhouses.

As soon as the protective barrier fell, the group of powerhouses lurched forward, and some

fell to the ground, spitting out blood.

"Leilani, y-you...?!"

"You traitor! Why did you do that?"

"Why did you help the human? You're going to bring destruction to the Angel Race!"

Many powerhouses roared at her furiously. Leilani ignored them and made her way to the

distant sky where James stood in a flash.

James could not be bothered with Leilani at the moment. Looking at Wotan, he shouted,

"Let's finish this quickly."

"Got it." Wotan nodded and quickly rushed down toward the group of creatures with his

sword in hand.

James did not stand by either. He charged at the creatures and began to mercilessly

slaughter them.

None of them could counter Wotan and James’ attacks without the protective barrier. One

after another, the creatures met their doom.

After the protective barrier was shattered, it was hard for them to reform it as James and

Wotan had already charged at them, preventing them from regrouping. They scrambled

around the place, trying to save themselves.

Leilani floated in the distant sky and watched quietly with a solemn expression. She could

not tell if she had made the right decision or not.
