Chapter 276: Smart, Fool and Traitor But Tracy didn't even flinch. She squeezed past him and cto stand between the two of them. Inez didn't know what the woman was trying to do by becoming a physical barrier between the two of them.

He loomed over the witch with his tall and mountain-like stature before stating in a low voice, "You cannot disregard my command like that. I am the alpha of this pack; the council allowsto decide on whom I give a place in my territory. And I don't agree to letting you stay here, so you'd better get the fuck out when I am being nice." "Oooh, I feel so scared now that you have gotten that out," Tracy sneered, her voice turning dangerously low. "First of all, you might be the alpha of this pack, but Inez is supposed to be the Luna as well, right? And I am telling you here and now, the Luna allowedto stay with her, which means that I have the right to be here without being cornered by you or anyone else." Killian's eyes flashed with something dangerous because, as much as he would have loved to contradict the witch, he had to admit that he caught him there. "I am not saying that she doesn't have the authority to allow people to stay with her, but she is way too naive when it comes to witches and wizards like you—" "What do you mean by naive?" She tilted her head. "Do you mean to say that she is a fool who cannot understand what is good for her? She is a big girl. I believe she can pick the right and wrong sort by herself." "She has never seen or heard about the cruelty of your kind—" "Actually, I have." Realising that she had had enough of their back and forth with Killian treating her like she was a hundred-year-old porcelain doll that would crack at his touch, Inez raised her hand and said to him, "I have heard all about the witches causing trouble in the city whether human or shifter, so I am not as naive as you think. And she is right; I can make the decision whether to trust someone or not on my own." She truly loved Killian, going all caveman and shit while trying to keep her protected. But she didn't like how easily he brushed her off either. Sure, she was not as skilled in fighting and other shifter skills with her wolf gone, but Inez knew better than to let a mass murderer inside her lodge.
Tracy, weird as she might be, she hadn't given her a reason to keep her at arm's length. If she had, then Inez would have definitely turned around and run out of the lodge instead of staying here or at least called someone through the pack link.
"You hear that?" Tracy said to the man with a smile on her lips. "She knows what she is doing, and you don't need to butt your way into everything that she does. She might be your woman, but she is also an adult who has free will; don't tellyou are going to guide every action of hers. I understand how dominant shifters work and how elemental your possessiveness is, but you still cannot disrupt her life. You might be a dominant alpha, but she is no submissive omega either. She is a half-blood." Killian furrowed his brows as if upset that the woman had countered him at every turn, not expecting Inez to back her up. "I am just trying to protect her. I am not intervening in her life or actions, but witches and shifters do not mix together, and you know that too." "No, I do not." Tracy straightened, her voice rising passionately. "These are the rules that you young ones cup with, but I do not have any reason to follow them, nor am I thinking of following them either. Back in my time, we were allowed to live a life as we wanted. Not divided by these stupid rules that you all cup with. It's really an annoyance, if I am being honest." And there it was, the tone of an elderly grandmother who was upset with her grandchildren messing up her favourite gnin the garden.
Killian's eyes flicked to Inez and then back to Tracy. "How old are you again?" "Never you mind that," she waved her hand dismissively. "All you need to know is that you cannot dismiss me." "And why is that?" Killian curled his lips in a faint snarl. "I don't care what you are and who you are, but you cannot just barge into my territory."
"Again, it's no longer your territory alone unless you are planning on kicking Inez out anytsoom. If you are, please det her andknow so we can leave this place before she faces an ugly heartbreak due to your lies," remarked Tracy with a calm expression.
The air between the two of them started to crackle with tension.
Neither of them had the smalleşt m desire to back up, and nez? She was • to back up, simply tired. Shuffling on her feet, waiting for them to stop their quarrel, she sat back down on the couch from which she had stood up. However, it didn't seem like they were all too inclined to do so.
Killian spoke, his voice softer now as he tried to make the witch see sense, "I am not going to do that, Dove her too much to do that, but that still doesn't explain what you are trying to do. Or why are you even here? Do you have an answer for that?" Tracy stared up at him. Quiet as the graveyard right outside the territory, before saying to him, "Believe it or not, I am here to help her. I am not going to harm her; this is something that I can promise you in the nof the Night Goddess."
