Chapter 521
They just said some things to me, and my dress got stepped on, that’s all.”
Serenity had no desire to pour her heart out about all her grievances right here and now.
“I’m sorry,” she continued. “I’m afraid bringing me here with you today has turned out to be.”
“You’ve got nothing to apologize for,” he interrupted her. “It’s all my fault. I should’ve taken better care
of you and not let you get dragged into this kind of situation.”
As he spoke, he knelt and tied up the torn ends of her dress into a knot so that it would not drag along
the floor, just in case she tripped on it and fell.
Everyone around them gasped the moment Jackson went down on his knees. None of them would

Once he was done tying up the loose ends of her dress, he raised his chin to look up at Serenity and
asked, “Are you hurt anywhere on your body?”
At that point, he was on his knees, loolding up at her as she stood and looked down at him. The
moment their eyes met, Serenity suddenly felt as if she had conquered him, and he was surrendering
at her feet.
‘Goodness!’ Serenity thought to herself. ‘What on earth am I thinking?!’
And so, she shook her head and replied, “No.”
But Serenity was not the only one who felt that way. In fact, anyone who saw them then all had similar
feelings. Who would have thought that the proud and haughty jackson Valor, who was almost as
powerful as a deity, would ever kneel in front of someone they all regarded as an inconsequential
woman, almost as if he was hurnbling himself before her?
Could this really be Jackson Valor?!
Julia, who was struggling to get back up on her feet in embarrassment, was in utter disbelief. How
could Jackson Valor be so humble and gentle with a woman who had been in prison before?!
Impossible! This must prove that the woman had hidden the fact that she used to be in jail! Jackson
must have absolutely no clue about her past! That must be it!
“Mr. Valor!” [ulla suddenly yelled. “Don’t be fooled by this woman! She’s been in prison before, and she
was the one who killed your former fiancee, Mira Hall, in a car crash?”
As soon as she s pake, the air in the room froze instantly Jackson glared coldly at her, making her feel

that she was, yet why was she the one feeling uneasy?! Why did Serenity not look scared or nervous at
all? In fact, she was… perfectly calm!
Jackson merely glared at Julia for a brief moment before he withdrew his gaze and stood back up.
Then, before everyone eyes, he sconged Serenity up in his arms.
Serenity let out a soft gasp before instinctively wrapping her arms around Jackson’s neck
She bit her lips lightly and told him, “But… But my feet aren’t hurt.”
“I know,” he replied, though he showed no sign of putting her down. He merely tuned to Caleb and said,
“Tay leaving now,
Caleb”
“Oh,” Caleb hastily replied, “Okay.”
He then watched in shock as Jackson walled out of the banquet hall with Serenity In his armas
