Chapter 378 KESTER.
Blood on the Runway blasted through my car speakers. I sang along, not missing a beat as I swerved onto the gravel road leading to the bunker. The bass vibrated through the wheel, matching the pounding in my chest. I was riding on instinct now.
I was eager to finish up with June in under an hour. Something in my gut said tonight was the night we'd find Kasmine.
Nope. Don't askhow I know. I just do.
I killed the engine, yanked my backpack from the backseat, and slammed the door shut behind me. My boots crunched over the gravel as I moved fast down the familiar path.
I didn't want to be in the middle of this when I'd be called upon to cget my mate. So, I hurried.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBut by the tI reached the entrance, I saw the doors wide open with the guards sprawled on the floor, probably knocked out.
Oh. Fuck.
I stepped over them like trash on the sidewalk and walked into the room June was supposed to be in, but it was empty.
What the fuck? Was that supposed to hurt or something? No. I was meant to get angry. But... where are my emotions? Seems I lost them somewhere along the line. Because all I felt was numbness. Didn't even have the urge to get angry. All I had the urge to do was to find her and make sure she fucking doesn't see the light of day.
It would make dragging her back all the more satisfying. I wasn't going to ask questions until I had her in a chair, bloodied and begging. That's when I'd care about how she escaped.
I turned around and headed outside where the guards lay like pathetic little worms.
Mmh... let's see...
I kicked both of them so hard in their ribs that they jerked up as if waking up from a bad dream.
Too bad because they were actually waking up into a bad dream.
"Alpha..." they both groaned, crawling to their knees and struggling to their feet like they were learning to walk again, the moment they realised what hell they were in.
I didn't rush them. Waking up from such a long, induced nap could mess with the mind. They needed time, to fully understand the kind of shit they were in.
1/3 Chapter 378 When they seemed more stable, and obviously trembling, I finally spoke.
"That was quite the nap." That was all I said, and they started rambling about everything that happened And what happened? "They just felt themselves drifting off while strong hands held them down.' So, what the fuck was I meant to do with that information? No names. No face. Just vague, chopped-up memories and smystery hands from the dark. Bullshit.
I looked at my wristwatch, and I had exactly forty-eight more minutes left from the tI had promised to spend with June. I still had stime.
So, I walked over to a large trunk just two feet away from them, sat down, dropped my backpack just beside me, and pulled out my bottle of whiskey.
I'll need to get a refill to takethrough the night because it m promises to be a very long night. lises to be a hadn't even visited Kex's pack yet, let alone Wes's pack to make sure they got my gift. Fuck. The night was full of blood and pleasure.
I took a long gulp from the bottle before setting it down between my boots and looking up at the two guards, before I spoke again.
"Fight," I said flatly, adjusting my seat on the trunk. "To the death.” ***
I watched with sick satisfaction as both men ripped each other apart Flesh tearing, bones cracking so loud, and screams turning into gurgles. By the tit was over, they were nothing but blood-soaked carcasses on the floor.
I glanced at the time. It took barely forty minutes. Too short. I'd hoped for more. You know something You longer and messier. But hell, I'd take it. Watching them die like that? It scratched an itch deep inside me. I stood up, wiped my hands, and reached for my phone. It was tto make a few calls. June wasn't getting away from judgment day.
But just before I swiped the phone open, a call cin. It was Norlan.
I almost ignored it again like I'd been doing all night. But something in my gut clenched. So, I picked.
"They've found her, Kes. Hurry. Meet us at the tarmac. Now."
