“Philip?” Barbara covered her mouth with one hand. Tears appeared in the corners of her eyes again.

But this time, the meaning was

different.

“Philip, you’re safe?”

Barbara snatched the phone from Kara. With two hands, she cupped it as if it were a very precious

object.

“Yes, Auntie. Philip is safe.”

Barbara let out a laugh. Her eyes twinkled at the figure she missed so much. However, when her

laughter died down, the curve of her lips changed direction.

“But, why isn’t he moving? He’s still breathing, right? Philip is still alive, right?” Barbara shook the

phone as if it were her lover.

“Philip is fine, Auntie. He’s just sleeping. Maybe Philip is sleepy after taking medicine,” Emily explained

as she sat near Philip’s legs.

“What medicine? Why is he taking medicine?”

Emily fell silent. Her eyes flickered. “Painkillers?” she answered doubtfully.

“You said Philip was okay?”

Before Barbara went berserk, Frank spoke up. “He said he was fine, Barbara. Only his waist and left

leg hurt, but he said there were no

broken bones.”

“Why didn’t you take Philip to the hospital? Even though he said so, he still had to undergo an

examination. Why do you take him home

instead?”

“It seems like he doesn’t want to worry you. He’s

to the hospital. I think he’s planning to pretend to be fine in front of you.”

“Fool! I would actually be more worried if he pretended to be like that. Right now, take Philip to the

limousine, Barbara immediat ran over, welcoming Philip with a big hug. Tears rolled down her

cheeks.

“Oh, Philip! Do you know how worried I was? I was afraid I couldn’t see you again. I was going crazy.”

She hugged Philip as if it was the last moment they saw each other. She wasn’t ready to part; she

wasn’t willing to lose him.

Smiling wryly, Philip rubbed her face. Gently, he kissed her pale lips. Sorry for making you worry. I

wanted to tell you, but my cell phone was broken. Then I-”

Barbara suddenly cupped Philip’s cheek. “I don’t care what hap

Philip laughed faintly. “I can walk on my own, Baby. My wound isn’t that bad.”

“Don’t protest! How could you be more worried about me than yourself? You shouldn’t pretend to be

strong, Philip.”

Philip chuckled. “That’s because I love you more than myself.”

“Nonsense! If you can’t take part in the wedding procession smoothly, you have to be prepared to

accept the consequences. I don’t want my makeup to be ruined because I’m crying over your

condition.”

While Barbara was babbling, Louis smiled mischievously. “Look! Auntie doesn’t care about us

anymore.”

“That’s because she’s more worried about Philip, Louis. Instead thinking about that, how about we go

see Mommy?”

“Good idea, Emily.”

The twins held Frank’s hand, about to walk together. At that moment, Kara came out of the door with

hasty steps. Her face was a little pale, full of anticipation. When her eyes found Frank and the twins,

her laughter escaped.

“Little Angels!” Kara waved with a relieved smile.

“Mommy?” The twins’ faces lit up. “Mommy!”

The two toddlers no longer held Frank’s hand. They ran as fast as

they could. Their quivering plump cheeks instantly turned red. When they arrived in Kara’s arms, the

sound of their laughter warmed the hearts of all who heard them.

“Mommy, I’m happy to hug you again!” Emily wiggled her body. With her chin resting on Kara’s

shoulder, her face looked rounder and cuter. “Yeah, me too! My chest almost exploded from

excitement.

Chuckling softly, Kara showered the twins’ faces with kisses. The two toddlers laughed louder.

“Mommy, we’ve had a long adventure today. We’re dirty and smelly,” Emily said.

“I don’t care. For me, you are always clean and smell good.”

Kara gave the twins more kisses. Not wanting to lose, Louis and Emily began to attack her cheeks with

their lips. The laughter warmed the atmosphere even more.

“Ahaha…. Mommy lost! Mommy’s cheeks are wet!”

“Mommy, you should give up! Your lips will be swollen if you keep attacking us!”

Seeing that scene, Frank smiled faintly. “Can I join in?”

The kissing war finally stopped. The twins looked up and Kara stood up, moving her arms around her

husband’s waist.

“Thank you very much, Frank. You managed to save the twins again. Thank you for coming back

safely.”

Frank gave Kara a warm hug. His nose inhaled deeply his wife’s scent

several times.

“How are you? You’re fine, right?” One of his hands slipped to stroke

her stomach.

Kara nodded. After meeting his eyes, she pressed her chin to her lips. “Thanks to Barbara, I can focus

less on worrying. She really managed to distract me.”

“There’s a point in being whiny and spoiled.” Frank let out a light sigh

and hugged Kara again. Witnessing their closeness, the twins furrowed their brows.

“Daddy? You said you wanted to join us. But at this rate, you took Mommy away from us!” Louis put on

a sullen look.

“Yeah, we want to cuddle too.” Emily tried to separate her father’s and mother’s legs. She wanted to

sneak in if there was a gap there.

Frank’s amusement returned to the air. Taking a step back, he muttered, “Come here, Kids.”

A moment later, he was carrying the twins. Kara happily wrapped

them in her arms.

“Oh, Mommy. I’m stuck!” Emily giggled. “But I like being pinned like this.” She pulled her parents’ necks

tighter.

Meanwhile, Louis stretched his arms up. “Woohoo! I’m glad we’re together again! I hope we’ll never be

separated. Especially later, whe Little Baby is born.”

From a distance, Ava watched the harmony with teary eyes. Her

hands unconsciously clenched in front of her chest. Her shoulders occasionally rose higher, matching

the hope rising and falling in her lungs.

“You do like watching people, hmm?

The voice interrupted Ava’s thoughts. However, knowing that Jeremy was standing next to her, her

surprise turned into awkwardness.

“Since when have you been here?” Ava leveled her expression and

tone.
