S31 42. Surprising Facts
Frank snorted at that assumption. “You think you’re better than my wife?”
“I am more worthy to be your wife, and yes. Of course I am much better than Kara. I am
the daughter of the Moore family. Didn’t you see my achievements on every side of the
living room?”
Frank pursed his lips, holding back a laugh. “If you were better than Kara, you shouldn’t
have gone this far, Sophia. You shouldn’t use my mother to get close to me.”
“I’m not using your mother,” Sophia shook her head firmly. “I helped her get better.”
Frank rubbed his chin and glanced away. “Aren’t you tired of repeating
that?”
“I won’t stop saying it until you believe it, until you realize it, until you
accept me.”
Frank laughed wryly. His sitting position changed several times. He no longer felt
comfortable facing Sophia. However, after checking the watch on his wrist, he
straightened up again.
“Okay, let’s end this debate. You want to know one fact? If I didn’t know Kara and met the
old version of you, I still wouldn’t be interested in you because you’re not my type.
Moreover, with the current you.”
Sophia’s expression dimmed. However, she couldn’t protest because Frank didn’t give her
enough time.
“Apart from the fact that you slept with my brother, do you r realize? You are no longer

you, Sophia. You shouldn’t have left Finnic for a married man.” Frank’s voice thinned. He
didn’t care if Sophia’s breathing became louder because of his intonation.
“Who says I’m jealous? I just can’t accept that Kara is happier than me. She doesn’t
deserve it.”
“That’s what is called greed. If you focused on your marriage, without comparing your life

would stil
Sophia laughed dryly. Her chest was very tight. However, she still tried to hold it.
“So, Kara can take other people’s partners, but I can’t? She took you
from Isabela, remember?”
“Not really. Isabela and I don’t love each other.”
“Finnic and I don’t love each other either. He just makes me Kara’s
shadow.”
“Does it justify what you did to my mother?”
Sophia rolled her eyes and sighed tiredly. She was starting to hate that word. My mother.
“Why do you keep cornering me? Are you angry that I took your mother out of her cage?”
Frank no longer made a sound. He took out a phone from his pocket then showed a video
that was ready to be played. Melanie’s face
looked healthy there, although she was a little thin.
“What’s that?” Sophia glanced at the phone and Frank alternately.
“This is proof that the woman my mother mentioned in your video is not Kara, but you. Do
you want to hear it?”

Sophia’s eyes trembled rapidly. Her neck seemed strangled, sucked in by tightness. “No!”
She tried to snatch the phone. However, Frank dodged it first. Smiling meaningfully, he
played the video.
“Hello, I’m Melanie Harris. Through this video, I want to give a
testimony.”
Sophia’s breathing began to shorten. The rise and fall of her
shoulders became visible. “That’s impossible! Mrs. Harris is not in a fit condition. Her
words cannot be trusted. The video must have been
edited.”
However, Frank didn’t care. Leaning back in the chair, he raised his finger to the side of
his ear, indicating for Sophia to listen.

“I admit I have made a big mistake some time ago. I threatened someone with a knife, but
instead, my daughter was stabbed.”
Melanie looked a little embarrassed when she said it. However, her eyes were clear. She
was clearly sane.
“Then, I realized that the action was wrong and dangerous. But at that time, I was too

Fran sent me here, I contacted someone.
Sophia’s hands clenched tighter. The drops of tears were lined up on the edge of her
eyelid, waiting for the blink to slide.
“The woman asked me to pretend to be crazy. She said she could manipulate the news to
corner my son and daughter-in-law then surprise the public by revealing that was not
crazy.”
Melanie breathed heavily, as if her regret was scattered in the air.

“Stupidly, I followed her advice. I pretended to be crazy and apparently, the woman didn’t
fulfill her words. Instead, she locked me in here, and injected me with something every
time visitors came.”
Melanie’s eyes were now red. Her voice was a little choked up.
“She wants to drive me completely crazy. Whether to protect her secret or for some other
plan, I don’t know. But what is clear is that she wants to separate my son and daughter-in-
law. She is obsessed with Frank. That’s why,” Melanie suddenly froze.
“My child, please forgive my stupidity. I shouldn’t have conspired with her. I’m sorry I
played a part in trapping you. I should have trusted you to restore my mentality, not

After a short silence, Melanie’s eyebrows shadowed her eyes again. Her voice was no
longer weak.
“And as for you, Sophia Moore, you think you can cover up your rot?” Melanie snorted in
disgust.
“I’m lucky that my son noticed something strange about me. The strange drug can no
longer affect me and my senses are s
slowly returning. I now remember everything you said and did. I can testify in court.”
Sophia’s body was shaking. Her anger had boiled over. “You trappe me,” she said in a low
tone, half a whisper.
“Who’s trapping who? Weren’t you the one who set the trap first? Luckily, I’m too smart to
be tricked” Putting away his phone, Frank smiled crookedly. “Are you curious about the
story?”
Sophia didn’t answer. She kept looking at Frank with red eyes, but Frank straightened up
his finger without any guilt.
“Let me tell you the story. About two weeks after my mother was rehabilitated, we were
suspicious because her behavior suddenly

changed. She was calmer, didn’t even talk at all. Her gaze was blank, like an idiot. Then
we found injection marks while in fact, there was no injection on her medication list.”
Tapping the table, Frank squinted. “Of course we were surprised.
Where did the injection come from? And it turns out … it was the work of your paid nurse.”
At that moment, a woman dressed in blue came. Her face was tense with her eyebrows
knitted faintly.
“Ava?” Sophia snorted in disbelief. “You dare betray me?”
The young woman looked down. Her hands intertwined in front of her stomach. “Sorry,
Miss Hall. I couldn’t do anything. What we did was against the rules.”
Sophia snorted in disgust. “You don’t love your mother anymore?”
