Chapter 289
Chapter 289
Over the weekend, Lily took a day off. She visited Hayden at the hospital and ran Into Rowan
Rowan said, "The patient's condition is quite stable now. Whether he pulls through depends on this final
attempt."
""How do we do it?" she asked in retum.
"Stimulate him and see if he can pull himself out of his emotional state. If he can, he wins. But if not..." He
sighed. "It's over.
Her heart tightened as she looked at Hayden in the ward
Through the window, she saw him, bathed in the morning sunlight. He was sitting on the hospital bed in a thin
fleece pajama, his short hair grown out a little, and his skin pale with a sickly hue. Though he wasn't fully back to
his old self, she could still spot straces of the sunny young man be used to be

"Are you betting on it?" Rowan glanced in the direction of her gaze. Hayden was a bright and cheerful young
man, so it was heartbreaking to see him like this.
""Yes" Lily nodded without hesitation.
He thought momentarily and said, "Givee a week to customize the final treatment plan."
she leaned toward him, bending slightly. "Thank you, Dr. Blackwood."
"Why thank me? This is what I'm supposed to do as a doctor." He laughed, adding, "You should thank someone
else."
He was referring to Xavier, having completely forgotten that he owed Terence a favor.
Lily recalled Terence's image and said, "I should thank him, too, but your efforts cannot go unappreciated. If you
have tand the situation allows, I'll take Hayden to thank you with a meal sometime." "I'll be waiting for that!"
Rowan smiled and tumed to leave.
Then, she entered the ward to accompany Hayden
at it, so she i invited
After mentioning Terence to Rowan, she decided to meet him for a meal. She needed to thank him for so much,
but it felt distant to be frank about him to dinner and said, "I'd like to talk to you about the house design."
"Sure." Terence readily agreed.
After hanging up, he had his secretary cancel his evening appointments and reschedule an international
meeting, adjusting his work for the evening.
They had arranged to meet at noon, but Lily stayed at the hospital all attemoon. In the evening, she went
straight to where she had agreed to meet him.
He had chosen the venue, a popular Kronion restaurant near the university, known for its affordable prices and
excellent reputation.
Lily arrived half an hour early, and Terence showed up only then.
He seemed to have rushed out, wearing only a thin sult. By the the walked from the car to the restaurant,
his hands, beautiful as they were, had already started to redden from the cold. Sorry I'm late," he said.
"Just the fact that you took tout of your busy schedule to meet withalready makeshappy." She
joked, signaling the waiter to bring the menu.

He sat down, offering a warm smile as he handed the decision-making to her. "Maryanne toldyou chere
often. It's supposed to be very good. I've never been. Please, order for me."
Having had dinner with him a few times, Lily knew his tastes and ordered a few dishes based on his preferences.
After placing the order, she poured him a cup of hot water and said, "Terence, you should design your own
marital home."
"Didn't Maryanne tell you?" Terence said, holding the cup to warm his hands. "I've already given up the authority
over Lupier. My father won't letget involved in design anymore."
Lily didn't expect this to be true. "Wouldn't that make you unhappy?"
Terence thought for a moment before answering, "Actually, no. | have stalent in design, but not a lot. | can't
compare to you. Honestly, | didn't choose this major because | loved it; | just went along with it. Now, I'm done
with it." "You didn't choose it because you loved it? Why choose it then?" She was puzzled.
She truly loved to design. She was determined to study interior design when she first entered high school. Even
though Bobby had scolded her harshly for it, shar still thought it was worth it.
Similarly, Terence had chosen this major against his family's wishes, but if he didn't like it, wasn't it all for
nothing?
