Chapter 26: Attending the Charity Auction Seeing that Penelope had actually left, Monica couldn't bring herself to go after her. She could only go find Timothy Foster.
"Ah?" Timothy Foster answered, "You want to know who Penelope is?" "Yes!" Timothy didn't know how to answer.
"Well... cough, shh, it's a secret. I'll tell you." Monica decided not to pursue the matter any further.
Full of impatience, Monica said, "I know, I know, just tell me!" "She is our boss," Timothy Foster said, "the wife of the head honcho." Monica's jaw dropped in astonishment.
What?! Penelope married Kelvin? Isn't this a rags-to-riches story, marrying into a wealthy family? Why does Penelope say she's miserable and unhappy? Timothy Foster cautioned, "Monica, I'm only sharing this gossip with you because of your face, so keep it confidential." "Do they have a good relationship?" Monica tried to gage the situation.
"Well... I'm not entirely sure. But the way they interact is confusing, filled with secrets." Monica pressed on, "What do you mean by confusing?" "If you stay in the company a few more days, you'll see something's not right." "Hey, Mr. Foster," Monica looked at him disdainfully, "as Mr. Davis's best buddy, how can you not find out about this gossip? You call yourself The the Davis's little informant, huh!" Timothy Foster shrugged, "I know everything about Kelvin, but he never mentioned a word about this marriage." Penelope returned to her desk, feeling a sense of unease inside.
Monica Anhao was her closest friend, someone she could confide in, and she wanted to share her experiences from the past few, vears.
But it would be meaningless and only make Monica feel the sway.
"Ding-" A message cto her phone.
Opening it, she saw it was from Kelvin: "GetRoll into my office." Penelope reluctantly got up.
"Mr. Davis, you wanted to see me," she stood properly in front of his desk.

Could it be...
"Are you takingwith you?" Penelope asked tentatively.
Kelvin mocked and curled his lips, "Do you think you're worthy?" "Not worthy." She almost smiled at the idea.
"Good to know," Kelvin crossed his legs, "I'll be taking Fiona." ".
"...Oh." "You, attend alone," he said, "find a corner where I can see you, and behave yourself." Penelope wasn't sure what his intention was, but she knew she had no right to refuse. "Understood. Just...," Penelope said, "I don't have suitable clothes." Kelvin leaned back on his chair, narrowed his eyes at her.
"Penelope, do you remember our first meeting?" She paused for a moment, nodding, "Yes." Not only did she remember, it was etched in her bones, an unforgettable nightmare that marked the beginning of her life.
Kelvin and Penelope first met at LA University, when she was summoned to the principal's office.
Innocent as she was...
Pushing the door open, the first thing she saw was Kelvin's dark and oppressive presence. He was dressed in a black suit, exuding an intimidating aura that left her speechless with fear. Despite his striking handsomeness, he was nothing short of a demon.
"Are you Doctor Cooper's daughter?" he asked.
"Yes...yes," she replied.

"Yes." "Good." Kelvin stood up and walked towards her. "Cwith me." And just like that, Penelope was under his control.
To the point where she didn't even have a chance to say goodbye to Monica.
Kelvin suddenly snorted coldly, "Tonight, we're going shopping, get ready!" He noticed that Penelope remained the sPenelope, not much different from their first meeting. She wasn't insane or desolate. Instead, she blossomed like a flower amidst thorns, becoming even more beautiful.
Shedding her youthful innocence from school days, she now exuded a womanly charm, with a perfectly curvaceous figure.
Kelvin closed his eyes, trying to shake off his scattered thoughts.
After work, Penelope hurriedly got into Kelvin's car with a worried expression, afraid of being seen. The car stopped in front of a high-end clothing store.
This store only catered to VIP clients, offering personal designer fittings and unique styles exclusive to the global market. It was guaranteed to never clash with anyone else's outfit. But...it was expensive.
SoSo, Penelope hesitated and asked, "Are you sure you want to buyclothes from here?" "Mhmm." "Well..." "Don't like their style?" Penelope responded, "No. Can you givecash instead?" Kelvin got out of the car with a cold face. "Dream on!" As soon as they entered the store, Kelvin handed her off to the shop assistant and went to the lounge area to have coffee.
The store manager personally took care of Penelope, spending an hour dressing her up from head to toe! As the curtain slowly opened, Penelope walked out, holding up her skirt.
"Mr. Davis, take a look," the store manager said, "she looks stunning..." Kelvin looked up, up; his eyes filled with astonishment.
The skirt was adorned with diamonds, shimmering brightly. With every step Penelope took, it reflected a dazzling light.
The off-the-shoulder design perfectly showcased her collarbones and slender neck. Not to mention her slim waist and curvaceous figure...

"A natural mannequin, looking better than any model," the store manager praised with skin fair as snow, and F. hair as black as ink, she would be the center of attention at any event!" Penelope felt a bit uneasy.
The reflection in the mirror was too beautiful, almost ethereal.
It had been a very long tsince she had seen herself like this, perhaps not since her twentieth birthday party.
Back then, she was her parents' little princess.
Kelvin stared at her, momentarily forgetting to look away.
From the first moment he saw Penelope, he knew she had the potential to be stunning.
Now, she had truly grown up.
|| "Is thatis okay?" Penelope whispered, "What do you think?" Kelvin snapped out of his trance and continued flipping through the magazine in his hands, "It looks hideous." "What?!" the store manager was dumbfounded.
"Get another outfit!" Kelvin said, "Something more refined!" How could she dress so stunningly beautiful? Just the thought of all those men at the banquet, their eyes fixed on her, admiring and ogling her, made Kelvin wish he could hide her away! No one could look at her! In the end, Penelope wore a pale pink gown.
Simple and understated, yet unable to hide her fair and beautiful complexion. Kelvin tossed her to the driver, "Take her to the venue." Then, he went to pick up Fiona.
Penelope felt like Cinderella, sitting in a carriage with a beautiful dress on, but the magic would disappear at midnight, and she would still be the simple girl she always was.
This charity auction had high standards, with prominent figures from all walks of life in attendance. Penelope stood out as an outsider, with no one recognizing her.
So, when she tried to enter the venue, she was stopped by the gatekeeper, "You can't just enter with any dress, stand aside!" Chapter 27 Can You Afford My Dress?
