Chapter 1422 For Your Own Good
Beryl hadn't expected Marcellus to respond this way. She had thought he would be very upset after knowing the
truth. After all, no one would want to receive such evaluations from their partner's parents.
But he was much more mature than she had imagined, showing a calmness that only came from experiencing
many things. He was thinking about making more effort when facing her parents rather than being filled with
negative emotions.
If she were in his shoes, she probably couldn't be as composed.
Beryl suddenly felt admiration for the man in front of her. "You really don't mind?"
"I do mind," Marcellus sighed helplessly, raising his hands. "They are your parents. Your mother's words are also for

He admitted that he was a bit disappointed. After all, there were very few people who looked down on him from
childhood to adulthood, and even if there were, it was usually those in his family who disagreed with him.
But now, he had finally won Beryl's heart, and before they could enjoy their happiness fully, other obstacles
appeared. He did feel a bit upset, but this feeling of dissatisfaction wouldn't take over his entire mood.
He had already won her; what more could he ask for? Obtaining a treasure always came with many tests, and he
believed he had the ability to overcome them.
Beryl reached out and gently tugged at the hem of his clothes, her eyes shining like countless stars. "Marcellus,
thank you for understanding."
Marcellus lowered his gaze, looking at her smooth face.
She had always been like this. No matter how their relationship changed, she remained a girl with clear principles
and understanding. Even now, despite the changes between them, she still expressed gratitude for his
understanding.
Marcellus didn't actually need her to say "thank you". He willingly treated her well without expecting anything in
return, but who wouldn't desire recognition from the other person?
She never thought his efforts were taken for granted; how could he not like this kind of Beryl?
So, what if there was a little misunderstanding? He had plenty of time to change her parents' impression of him.
"I should thank your parents instead for raising you so well and making you grow up healthy. Otherwise, I wouldn't
have met such a lovely girlfriend like you."
Marcellus was often candid with his words and didn't shy away from sweet talk, but this level of cheesy words was
relatively rare.

Beryl used to be cautious around Marcellus, but since she genuinely fell for him, whenever she heard such words, a
wave of sweetness washed over her heart.
"Anyway, no matter what happens, don't let it bother you. I don't want you to be unhappy."
Her soft voice kissed his ear, and Marcellus felt as if he was surrounded by a warm, comforting sun.
"Okay."
Despite the sweetness, Beryl still had to go to the hospital.
Beryl slowly got up, trying not to strain her lower body, but even with extreme care, she still felt some pain.
Marcellus looked at her with concern, even starting to regret why he was so impulsive last night.
Beryl felt shy but also wanted to comfort him. In the end, it was she who felt sorry for what happened.
After a simple tidy-up and freshening up, Marcellus took her downstairs to have breakfast. There was a restaurant
in the villa area, so breakfast was delivered directly to their home.
The two of them sat next to each other. They looked so affectionate and sweet.
