Estelle chuckled softly, “C’mon, it’s not my first rodeo. I know the drill!”
“Every gig’s different, Estelle, and you haven’t been to that side of town in ages. Just… be careful, okay?” Josiah’s
voice was choked with concern. He took a deep breath, “And if you need anything, anything at all, just holler. I’ll be
there in a heartbeat!”
Amiee stretched out her hand, “Here’s to hoping the three musketeers get to ride into battle together again. Safe
travels, boss.”
Estelle and Josiah placed their hands on Amiee’s, their grip firm and resolute – a testament to the unbreakable
bond they’d forged from the start.
After Josiah and Amiee left, Estelle began to pack up her things. The clothes she’d slipped off the night before were

The only issue was the dress she’d hastily ordered; Estelle decided to clean and dry it before tucking it away in the
corner of her wardrobe.
Hopefully, the cleaning lady wouldn’t go sorting through that dress.
With everything in order, Estelle scribbled a note for Jonathan and left it on the sofa in the side room.
As she opened the door to leave, she turned back to see the sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows
into the living room – warm, clear, seemingly infusing her heart with strength.
She would make it back!
Before heading back to the Bright Commercial Center, Estelle stopped by Paragon Pixel Design where Emily
worked. She texted her to meet up at the dessert shop across the street from the office building.
Emily hurried over, surprised to hear that Estelle was tagging along with Old Mr. Jarvis back to C City. “Well, it’s good
you’ve got some time now. Once you pick up a new project, you won’t have a moment to spare,” she said with a
smile.
“Yeah,” Estelle replied with a grin. “How have things been with you and Charlie?”
With a rosy blush on her fair and plump cheeks, Emily nodded as she cradled her milkshake. “He’s been
wonderful!”
“And his family? Have you met them yet?” asked Estelle.
Emily’s pretty brows furrowed slightly, “Charlie said he’s taking me home this weekend. I’m not sure what his
parents think about us.”
“If Charlie’s taking you, he won’t let you be mistreated,” Estelle reassured her.
There was a resilient glint in Emily’s clear eyes, “I understand that his parents don’t accept me, but I’ve made up
my mind that as long as he cares for me, I’ll keep going.”

“That’s the spirit,” Estelle nodded. “When I get back, let’s move into the Royal Mansion together!”
Emily hesitated. She has always long for standing on her own two feet, not wanting to become too dependent like a
clinging vine. But it did seem unfair to Charlie to have him come to Bright Commercial Center all the time.
Reading her thoughts, Estelle smiled gently, “If you’re planning a future together, you don’t need to keep score on
everything. Charlie doesn’t care about that stuff. He’d probably give you the world if he could!”
Emily’s lips broke into a shy smile which revealed her two cute dimples, as she slowly nodded, “Alright, when you
return, we’ll move into the Royal Mansion. I could pay him rent like you did with Jonathan!”
“Charlie will just complain that Jonathan set a bad precedent!” Estelle laughed.
Imagining the banter Charlie and Jonathan might have, both of them couldn’t help but laugh out.
