Chapter 261 Bai Shao Is Mu Ming
It didn’t look like anything had been altered.
Were Mu Zhi and him really siblings?!
After receiving the results, Lu Jinye’s suspicions rose even more.
This was impossible.
At that moment, Lu Jinye’s phone rang. It was the private investigator!
Lu Jinye looked down and picked up his phone, “Hello?”
This private investigator sounded excited and happy when he said, “Mr. Lu, I have good news! I
followed the clues you gave me and among the list of men I found, there was a man names Liu Jiaming
who looked very similar to Mu Xianyong. And records showed that he received plastic surgery just last
month.”
“Liu Jiaming also has a criminal record. He was imprisoned for killing someone in a fight. But was
recently released for some undisclosed reason!”
“He seemed to have disappeared after he was released. None of his friends knew where he was and
couldn’t find him.”
“One more thing, he has experience in acting when he worked for a network studio.”
After the private investigator was done, Lu Jinye only had one question, “Where is he?”
“I have sent someone to look for him. We will have results very soon.”
“Good,” Lu Jinye responded with a one worded answer.
But the private detective quickly added, “Mr. Lu, there’s one more thing.”
“One sec.”
Lu Jinye looked at the clock on the corridor wall only to notice that Mu Zhi had been gone for a while
now!
“We’ll talk about the rest later.”
He hung up and quickly walked towards the bathrooms. He grabbed hold of a passing nurse and asked
for her help in looking for someone in the washroom.
But… The nurse soon came out and told him that there was no one in there.

Lu Jinye’s heart sank. He had the hospital closed off all exits and had people searching everywhere for
Mu Zhi but still could not find her.
He requested for the surveillance footage.
Only then did he discover a doctor stopping Mu Zhi and showing her the results. Soon after, Mu Zhi
turned and left in another direction!
Mu Zhi had seen the DNA report!
Lu Jinye felt that something wasn’t quite right.
He called Mu Zhi’s phone but couldn’t get through.
After not getting through, he started to search for her on foot. But before he had even left the hospital,
he received a text message from the private investigator. He had told him that they would speak more
about the issue later on, but the investigator felt that this was too urgent to wait.
The message said, ‘Mu Ming currently goes by Bai Shao.’
Lu Jinye read the message and placed the phone back into his pocket when another message came
through.
This was a longer text message because it contained personal information.
‘Mu Ming came from a poor family and received financial aid from an academician to further his studies
in the USA. For some reason, when he returned, he had his name changed to Bai Shao. He currently
works at First Hospital and has won many awards for his research.’
At the end of the message was a note from the private investigator, ‘I’ve checked, and Bai Shao looks
exactly like Mu Ming.’
Lu Jinye was in shock when he read all this.
He focused on the piece of information saying that Bai Shao worked at First Hospital.
He suddenly thought of something and returned to the surveillance room and pointed at the doctor who
gave them the result report asking, “What is this doctor’s name?”
In the face of Lu Jinye’s question, the vice administrator trembled.
He adjusted his glasses and said, “He is one of our doctors, Dr. Bai Shao. He specializes in general
medicine.”
“Why would a general practitioner be in the genetic testing department!?”
Lu Jinye already knew the answer when he asked the vice administrator.
“Have him see me now!”
Bai Shao was Mu Xianyong’s son!
That meant he was Mu Xue’s son too!
Why did Lu Jinye and Mu Zhi’s DNA testing result with them being siblings?
It was likely that Bai Shao had swapped his own samples with Lu Jinye’s and tested both his and Mu
Zhi’s.
The results from the testing were not proof that Lu Jinye and Mu Zhi were siblings but of Bai Shao and
Mu Zhi!
Meanwhile, Xu Changshu slowly walked in to see Bai Shao’s letter of resignation. She said, “You don’t
have to resign. This isn’t that big of a deal. I can cover it up for you.”
Bai Shao looked up at Xu Changshu and said calmly, “There’s no need. Thank you.”
Years ago, he had been forced out of an internship by others because his thesis was exceptionally
written. He had been frustrated.
Then he received an offer from a campus in the USA, but he had no money. He had despaired.
He wanted to die.
He had prescribed himself enough sleeping pills for him to die when he received a call from Xu
Changshu. She had said that she would provide him with financial support with the condition that he
could persuade his sister into leaving her son.
Only then, did he know that both him and his sister were living in the same city.
Just when he was about to persuade her, Xu Changshu had told him that there was no need for it
anymore and that it had been handled.
But she had still chosen to provide him financial aid.
Bai Shao had finished school and returned. Xu Changshu had his name changed as his previous name
was not auspicious. From then onwards, his career in the medical field rose.
Until today, when he swapped Lu Jinye’s sample out and matched with Mu Zhi did he understood that
the Xu Changshu that he had admired and respected had been using him all this while.
She had been getting all her ducks in a row for when the day came to use them against Lu Jinye and to
suppress Mu Zhi.
But Bai Shao had to do it.
He couldn’t bring himself to say no.
He had to repay her.
“In a moment, Lu Jinye will find me. Madam, please return to your office. Rest assured, I know what to
say and won’t drag you into this.”
Bai Shao sat back into his chair and continued to write his resignation letter.

“Dr. Bai Shao, come with me,” the security guard said.
Without asking, Bai Shao stood and followed the security guard out.
As he left, he looked back at his beloved office.
