Owen stared at her for a while before saying, "You're the only one who still thinks of her as your sister. She definitely doesn't see you as hers." Asher stopped at the office door with Chloe. "Alright, this is where I leave you. You're on your own from here," he said. "Thanks," Chloe said.
She pushed the door open. Michael was on the phone, sitting behind his desk.
Seeing her approach, he frowned slightly, lowered his voice to say a few words, and then hung up the phone. "What are you doing here?" he asked.
"I can't come?" she said.

Michael frowned as she brought up divorce again.

"That should have what I need, right?" she thought.
She bent down, eyes locked on his. "Mr. Shawn, are you running away? You tore up the contract. You owea new one, don't you?" She deliberately leaned in close, their breaths mingling.
He met her gaze, unyielding. "You know exactly why I tore up the contract." Chloe shrugged. "I get it, Mr. Shawn. You think I'm too close to other guys. But con, you're the one bringing that woman to the office every day. Don't blme." Michael knew she was talking about Lucy.
Suppressing his irritation, he repeated, "Lucy and I aren't what you think." He had no clue how many more times he'd have to explain.
