Chapter 324 The Overwhelming Authority Theo's voice was so deep and dominant that William could feel his overwhelming authority over the phone.
"W-Well..." William stammered for a long time. He was the type of person who preyed on the weak and feared the powerful. The next the spoke up, his voice was laced with flattery.
"Of course, I trust you, Mr. Gray. Vera misses Sierra. That's why she made the phone call." He chuckled awkwardly. "I didn't expect you two to be together right now. Geez. It's a big misunderstanding. That's what this is. I'll leave you guys to it now.

Sierra was shocked by how shameless William was. She reached out and snatched the phone. "Dream on. I won't let Theo feed your insatiable greed." All she heard was the busy tone over the phone. He had already hung up. She panted heavily and, despite her best efforts, tears streamed down her cheeks.
She didn't agree to William's terms previously because she didn't want to cause any problems for Theo. Now that they harbored genuine feelings for each other, she was even less willing to let him witness the Shaw family's shamelessness.
Sierra was wracked with disgust, shame, and guilt when she heard how William audaciously used her to ask for favors from Theo.
"It's okay." Theo raised his hand and pulled her into his arms.
Sierra leaned on his chest, and she finally couldn't hold the tears back anymore. She fell apart and cried in anguish. "Why? Why do I have to go through this?" As he listened to her repeated questions, a look of pain flashed across his grim expression, and he tightened his embrace.
William had failed as a father. That much was clear as day. He wasn't in a position to meddle in the Shaw family matter previously. Now that he and Sierra were married, he was part of the family, too. Vera was in deep waters, and it was his duty to intervene.
Once Sierra was done weeping, she said in low spirits, "You don't have to give William any business projects. He is a poor excuse for a businessman. You could give him a surefire, profitable project, but he would still squander it." Sierra felt ashamed to have such a shameless father, but she still raised her head and said with seriousness, "Don't worry. I won't let him bug you, and I certainly won't make you support Shaw Corporation." Theo patted her head and said gently, "I am expected to give him the monetary gift. As for the business side of things, I don't mind giving him projects if he would just behave himself." The Gray family was wealthy and prestigious. Needless to say, they could overlook such a trifling matter. However, Sierra wouldn't have any of it. She was resolved to handle her familial matters on her own.
Meanwhile, Vera helped Xavier back to his room. She said as she applied ointment for him, "Obey your dad whenever he asks you to go to your room. Leavebe and don't meddle in our business." Xavier hung his head. He was still coming to grips with the fact that William whipped him with a belt. "Mom, why didn't Dad like Sierra?" She was startled and accidentally poked his wound, causing him to gasp sharply.

"Geez. Are you okay?" She frantically moved her hand away. She blew on his red and swollen wound as she blamed herself. You're hurt, and it's all my fault." Xavier saw how weathered and downtrodden Vera was. Guilt flashed in his eyes as he saw in his mind how his father stood next to him with a belt in his hand. "Mom, I didn't know better before, but I will keep you safe from here on out." Vera stopped in her tracks and wept uncontrollably. Eventually, both of them embraced each other and cried together. They didn't stop until William shouted from outside.
"Stop crying for a change. All you do is cry every day. That brings a lot of bad vibes to the family.
"Also, not only did that prick of a daughter refuse to obey me, but she actually had the gall to threaten me. Son of a bitch. Every last one of you is really itching for a beating."
Sierra was in low spirits, and Theo didn't feel safe, leaving her hm alone. However, he had to sign an important agreement in the afternoon. So, he gave a call to Madison and asked her to keep Sierra company.
